Theoretical-practical workshop in which we will learn to integrate attractive elements for bees, butterflies and pollinating insects. We will also know the importance that they play in the role of biodiversity conservation in urban ecosystems. We will be able to create our own Pollinator Garden, bug hotel or mini Garden to apply it in small spaces. All of the above can be learned within one of the most iconic parks in the city, the Cárcamos park. Learn the theory and let's get to work in this workshop!

Through a tour to the municipal nursery we will know the equipment and tool to be used learning the correct methodology for a phytosanitary pruning, detect risks that may arise from a case of bad practice and know how to execute the appropriate actions. Also, we will learn and practice the techniques and tools of transplants that, in our environment are carried out in new construction projects where trees are found that in many occasions are not compatible with the purposes of a design and must be moved from their site . Be an expert in green and wooded areas!

In the last three years, the Metropolitan Park of León has managed to link up with educational institutions, associations, companies, public and private organizations at the national and international level that have allowed it to detonate innovative and successful projects such as “Urban parks as a platform for ESD (Education for Sustainable Development) ”and“ The transition from vigilantes to park rangers, a profile that allows the supervision and monitoring of biodiversity, in addition to visitors ” Learn about the strategies and stakeholders that have led this great park to the transformation it has had in such a short time!

In 1994, in León, the first Municipal Planning Institute in Mexico emerged. With the creation of this Institute, León became the first municipality to establish an agency that, in addition to defining the direction of the city, has a Directing Council for citizen participation. 25 years after its creation, in the IMPLAN they maintain important challenges that define the short, medium and long term development of the municipality. During this workshop, attendees will know the origin, evolution and operation of IMPLAN León, as well as learn about the most relevant plans and programs that make up the Municipal Planning System, all through interaction with the management and technical body that make it up.

The Explora Park is part of the fairground of León, this park is managed and maintained by the fair team, being this park of 21 hectares, one of the most emblematic of the city. We will tour the corners of the park and fairgrounds, at the same time as by the General Director of the Board of Trustees of the State Fair of León and the Head of the Explora Park, we will learn the necessary tools for good administration and actions that lead the park to your financial sustainability over time. We will visit the Guanajuato Cultural Forum, the Museum of Art and History, Calzada de las Artes and the Bicentennial Theater, among others that are part of the Fairgrounds concluding with the tour to Parque Explora, which will deepen its financial model.

What is tactical urbanism and the Placemaking movement? In this theoretical-practical workshop you will know a methodology to develop urban projects and scale them, integrating social participation and the variables of time, space and resources. All this with the objective of strengthening human capacities through the learning of a methodology that studies, analyzes and proposes actions in the public space with four fundamental tools: Data analysis, community approach, urban interventions and Design thinking. Get to know the principles of tactical urbanism and learn how to scale your urban projects!

The Metropolitan Park of León developed a methodology for the planning and execution of a technical inventory of woodland. This workshop will address the needs, advantages and different management applications in which a technical inventory of trees can be used. Attendees will be described step by step the planning structure, the technological tools, measuring instruments available and necessary to perform this work. In addition to all of the above, they will receive a brief training to perform the calculation of times according to the work surface and the estimated number of copies to be inventoried.
